Purpose of Role:
To provide refurbished laptop computers, smartphones and tablets to community groups and organisations that support vulnerable people.

This project is a partnership between Business in the Community, Nottingham City Council, Tech Nottingham, NCVS and voluntary groups. It involves businesses such as the London Stock Exchange, Boots and BUPA, with other business partners likely to become part of the project.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Delete, re-format and install software on laptop computers, phones and tablets in line with guidance and training that is offered for this role.

These devices can be delivered to you, or you can, if you are able and willing, collect them from a central point in your local area.

Maintain good communication with the coordinator and your designated technical support contact.

Your volunteering will be arranged between you and your coordinator.

You will have the satisfaction of knowing that you have helped to provide IT support for some of the most vulnerable people in Nottingham.
You will be able to use your IT skills and experience
You will be part of a team of volunteers from the business sector and the community sector working together to make a difference
You will be helping to prevent old computers going to landfill
You will check in with the coordinator at agreed intervals.
You will have a designated technical support contact in case of any technical issues.
The coordinator will be available to answer any other questions or resolve problems.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
You will need to have reasonable IT skills that include formatting hard drives and installing operating systems and software.
