Setting up and Running a Group

New resources coming soon

We're in the process of adding a new series of resources and documents to this website which will help guide you through some of the common issues involved in setting up a new group or running an established organisation effectively.

Keep a watch on this page for details. You may also wish to subscribe to our fortnightly NCVS e-bulletin to stay informed.

In the meantime, a suggested list of how we might assist your group or organisation, with links to relevant parts of this website, can be found on our Support for Groups page.

How to access support

The support you may be able to access from NCVS will vary depending on a range of factors, for instance: where your group operates; who your primary audience is; and the types of services / activities you already (or hope to) provide.

There will be times when we aren't able to help. If this is the case, we'll always aim to signpost to other sources of support.

If you think NCVS can assist your group / organisation, please complete our Request Support Form:

It's important you provide as much detail as you can when contacting us. This enables us to assess who in our team is best placed to assist. We may still have additional questions for you, so please be patient if we request more background information.

We can't guarantee to offer one-to-one or in-depth support. Sometimes, the support you need can be found in existing online resources and we'll direct you to those. Or we might encourage you to sign up to our mailing lists, and/or recommend you join one of the many supportive VCSE networks in our city for peer support and learning.

NCVS has many connections for you and your organisation to benefit from.
