Purpose of Role:
Join the St John Ambulance Nottingham team as a Youth Helper, and take pride in supporting our young people in developing the first aid skills, confidence, teamwork and self-discipline that will see them flourish in our community.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Youth Helpers work directly with young people in St John Ambulance Badger Setts and Cadet Units by supporting our Youth Leaders to deliver sessions across our range of programmes. In this role, you'll support the learning and development of young people, helping them to become the next generation of health citizens. Youth Helpers also help young people develop their confidence, teamwork skills, self-discipline, and generally encourage them to strive to be the best they can be, as well as supervise and support other adult volunteers in their team.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
No qualifications are required and knowledge of first aid is not needed. An interest in working with young people is essential along with a willingness to work as part of a team to provide fun, engaging and sessions and activities for young people.
A DBS will be needed along with some essential training such as safeguarding, youth work fundamentals and basic first aid; we will provide all essential training. Successful applicants can access additional training if they wish.
