Purpose of Role:
GoodGym is an innovative approach to volunteering because you are ecouraged to run, cycle or walk to combine exercise with doing good in your communiity. In Nottingham, they are focussing on supporting isolated older people.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
GoodGym is a community of runners, walkers, and cyclists who combine exercise with doing good in our communities. We support charities, community projects, and isolated older people with practical tasks that take less than 60 minutes.

Launched in 2009, GoodGym operates in more than 60 areas of England and Wales, with plans for further expansion and an aim to reach all parts of the UK – making getting fit by doing good a mainstream movement.

We help a range of organisations in our local communities, planting trees, making up beds in winter shelters, sorting foodbank donations, chopping wood, picking litter – anywhere a bit of human energy and enthusiasm is needed, you’ll find some GoodGymers happy to help!

We also offer practical and social support to isolated older people. We run, walk or cycle to help out with the little things that can make a big difference – picking up prescriptions, changing lightbulbs or a weekly chat and a cup of tea.

We have 25,000+ members (and counting) and as of March 2025 we achieved our 385,000th good deed.
