Glapton Academy Governors attend 3 meetings per academic year in their role, one per term, and they are encouraged to conduct additional assurance visits to the school site during the year. Governors can take on a specialist focus in specific areas of school and training is provided. Governors usually serve for a four year term but could do longer or shorter depending on the time you have to give.
Glapton Academy is a member of L.E.A.D. Academy Trust. We passionately believe in the power of partnership working as a catalyst for better educational outcomes for children and systemic change. This is why our model allows member schools the autonomy to lead and manage in a way that preserves their individual identity and responds to specific community needs, while unifying them through:
- shared vision and values;
- partnership working in key areas such as leadership, professional development and sharing best ideas and practice;
- improved succession and career planning; and
- a relentless focus on an exceptional quality of teaching and learning.
We welcome applications from underrepresented groups and all of our Governors will be given membership to the National Governance Association to help develop them in their role.
