Purpose of Role:
We a looking for a volunteer coordinator to help our small charity to attract and retain volunteers. This would be an ideal role for someone who has some time and wants to join a community team or someone who wants to gain experience as a volunteer coordinator and progress to paid employment in the charity sector. The volunteering hours can be discussed to fit around your schedule, but we are not in the office on Mondays.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for a volunteer coordinator to help us recruit volunteers at our social cafe at SFiCE House. You would keep volunteer adverts relevant on our volunteering sites and respond to enquiries about volunteering opportunities. You would send application forms out, receive and review them, request references and follow them up.
Volunteers are hugely important for the running of our social cafe where we feed people experiencing homelessness and financial difficulties. They help with preparing food, serving teas and coffee and food, setting and clearing tables , washing and tidying up.
Our volunteers also help with sorting clothes, food parcels, social media, ESOL classes and support out benefits adviser. The role of volunteer coordinator is therefore pivotal. You would be welcomed in our small and friendly team.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Good computer skills, good telephone manner, ability to write job adverts, good communication skills and a personable demeanour. We can help train you if you think you have the potential.
