Purpose of Role:
We work tirelessly for children and young people living with Cancer, but we can’t do this alone. We need the support of dedicated volunteers like you to be part of #TeamYoungLives - to be ambassadors for our young people, to build strong connections and create new opportunities to develop our work, to put Young Lives vs Cancer at the forefront of local communities, so that we can help more young people to face whatever Cancer throws at them.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
As a fundraising group member, no two days are the same and there are a variety of tasks you can get involved with, including:
• Tin Collector - Seeking out new locations for collection tins, building relationships with people at tin locations, placing and replacing tins four times per year, counting and banking donations.
• Fundraising Engager - We’re looking for people who can bring the fight for young lives to their local communities by telling more people about the work we do, raising more awareness of fundraising and campaigns, being our face at events and generally oozing Young Lives vs Cancer through everything you do.
• Speaker – Promoting the work of Young Lives vs Cancer by organising and delivering talks and presentations and proactively approaching local companies, groups and organisations in order to organise speaking opportunities.
• Fundraising Researcher - Making meaningful connections and partnerships with businesses and organisations, big and small, putting your research skills to use and helping us to identify and connect with potential partners in the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire area.
When will I volunteer?
This will vary according to the tasks you are interested in and how busy the team are, but the role can be flexible and you can make volunteering fit your schedule and your interests. Activities can range from a one off task for a couple of hours, to a longer commitment organising events; bite sized research or a couple of hours to give a talk. You can volunteer on week days, evenings or weekends depending on the task in hand and support the group with their busy schedule in a way that suits you.
