Purpose of Role:
At Nottinghamshire Hospice, we're looking for warm, welcoming people to join our team as Meet and Greet Volunteers. This quiet role involves answering the door, informing staff members that a visitor has arrived and generally putting our visitors at ease. You'll need to be physically mobile, have a friendly smile and be content sitting on your own for periods of time in our cosy foyer. ROLE DESCRIPTION:
We’re the leading charitable provider of palliative and end of life care in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. We provide invaluable round the clock care to people in their homes as well as offering bereavement and wellbeing support here at the hospice. The Meet and Greet Volunteer role is essential to ensure that patients and visitors have a friendly welcome when they come to Nottinghamshire Hospice and are treated with care and compassion.

What you'll be doing:
• Provide a warm and friendly welcome as patients and visitors arrive in the hospice foyer
• Answer the doorbell
• Ensure all visitors are signed in and out of the building
• Inform the appropriate staff and volunteers when visitors arrive
• Make patients/visitors feel comfortable by talking to them and making a drink when necessary
• Take visitors to the respective staff member or room
• Occasionally, complete simple admin tasks that can be done in the foyer

Our Meet and Greet Volunteers will be based at the Nottinghamshire Hospice at 384 Woodborough Road, Nottingham, NG3 4JF.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills needed:
• Have a friendly & cheerful personality
• Feel confident in dealing with members of the public
• Have good communication skills
• Be sensitive and caring
• Be content with sitting for periods of time with minimal interaction or activity
• Use initiative
• Be discreet and maintain confidentiality at all times
• Be mobile and confident using stairs as we are based in an historical building without a lift
