Purpose of Role:
As vice chair you’ll be a member of our trustee board/executive committee and leadership team. You’ll work closely with the chair and treasurer to oversee the future direction and development of the charity.
We’re looking for volunteers with management skills and some previous trustee experience

ROLE DESCRIPTION:
What you will be doing
Contributing to the development of all aspects of the charity including governance, campaigning, promotion and fundraising
Supporting the chair to provide leadership to the board of trustees
Deputising for the chair when required
Being an active committee member by attending meetings and
contributing ideas
Meeting with the general public, partner organisations, politicians and local government officers
Ensuring compliance with constitutional and governance requirements and Charity Commission guidance
Managing any staff, volunteers and contractors
Using your skills, experience and local contacts to promote our work Being a positive advocate for CPRE and encouraging others to support our work
Safeguarding the reputation and values of our charity

The skills you need
A commitment to CPRE policies, campaigns and initiatives
Good leadership, management and organisational skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Good interpersonal skills including diplomacy, impartiality, fairness, respect and confidentiality
Previous experience of committee work (paid or voluntary)
Have access to a computer and the internet at home and be confident using them
Some knowledge of the charity and voluntary sector
Be able to commit to volunteering regularly to suit your availability, including attendance at meetings
We ask that all trustees are, or are willing to become, members of CPRE
