Purpose of Role:
You would drive the young person to their accommodation for the night, and introduce them to their Volunteer Host.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
To provide safe transport for young people from a specified pick-up location to the accommodation where they will be staying the night.

Volunteer Drivers are often be the first contact that the young person will have with Nottingham Nightstop. For many young people this will be a distressing situation so your primary responsibility would be to help the young person feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible. You would then drive the young person to their accommodation for the night, and introduce them to their Volunteer Host.

We understand that life is busy, so we work around the volunteer’s commitments and schedules. We chat to Volunteer Drivers via WhatsApp to establish availability on a week-by-week basis, then arrange pick-ups only on the days that they can do, at times that work for them.

We have a thorough risk assessment processes, ensuring that we aren’t putting our volunteers at risk with the young people they are interacting with, and all relevant information is passed on to the volunteers prior to their involvement with a placement, e.g. relevant safeguarding issues, allergies etc.
