Purpose of Role:

Help guide a volunteer team to plan, prepare, and plate a free 2-3 course meal for your local community!

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

As a volunteer Cooking Project Leader you’ll induct volunteers into the kitchen, facilitate the team, create recipe ideas, and lead on the preparation and cooking of the meal. You’ll be protecting the environment through the use of surplus ingredients donated by local businesses, and you’ll help to build a resilient and empowered community through the sharing of delicious food and conversation.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

No experience needed, we provide full training and support during sessions. You will be encouraged to attend some sessions as a regular volunteer to get to know the project and will be sent further details of the project leader training via email that we will work with you to complete.

How long to complete training and recruitment?

Regular volunteer training takes 10 minutes when registering, Project Leader training varies depending on when each stage is completed by and when you feel confident to lead a session yourself but minimum 1 month to 3 months is expected.
