Purpose of Role:
Do you want to make a difference to the lives of someone with a learning disability and gain experience of working within a charity? Volunteer for Our Active Community and support us with research and admin. Join us as a Team Support Volunteer today!
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
The Mencap Sports team are looking for a volunteer that can support the work of the Community Partner on the Our Active Community project in the Nottingham and Derby areas. The focus of the role will be to support with admin and research tasks.
The Our Active Community project is funded by Sport England. The aim of the project is to support the community to grow opportunities for people with a learning disability to get and stay active throughout their lives.
What you will be doing:
Reading through written responses from people with a learning disability, collating the information and establishing any themes
Helping to write up monthly newsletters
Researching local organisations and community groups
Contacting local community groups
Help with arranging meetings and events
Helping to write up meeting notes
Occasionally supporting local events
When do I need to be available? This role is home based and flexible based on your availability. Ideally you will need to live in the Nottingham or Derby area so you have some local knowledge.
