ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Refugees have been identified as one of the most unemployed and underemployed groups in the UK and at the Forum we see this in action every day. But we also know that employment is one of the best ways to empower people and help them to integrate, reducing mental health problems, preventing isolation, improving language, and supporting skill development.
The wait between registering and receiving a college place can be at least 6 months. We aim to provide bridging ESOL classes at various levels for any NNRF clients who need them. Students can continue at NNRF for as long as they wish although we generally expect them to move on once a place becomes available.
The majority of students are at pre entry and entry 1 levels although we aim to provide classes at all levels if required. We have also provided Maths, Arabic literacy, IELTS preparation and dedicated classes for UASC and would be very pleased to offer other subjects if a volunteer with particular skills or experience applies.
