Purpose of Role:
As an organisation, we run a host of national level paddling events which include; National Canoe Sprint Regatta's, Freestyle British Open, Wildwater Racing British Open, Raft racing and Canoe Slalom competitions, all of which we heavily rely on volunteers to deliver. We are hoping to supplement the current volunteer pool by introducing new, Nottingham based volunteers to the team which we hope will convert into regular volunteers for our events. To retain new volunteers, we hope to provide training for specific roles to ensure the current team can impart their knowledge and skills onto others.

If you are interested in sport, and wish to be part of a volunteer community, please don't hesitate to get in touch and we'd love to explore what roles would suit you best!
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Would you like to join a community of Nottingham based volunteers delivering national sporting competitions and events?
If the answer is yes, read on to join our team of volunteers and be a key part of bringing the 2024 events to life!

Ahead of the 2024 events season, we have some opportunities for volunteer roles at the canoe sprint regattas based at the National Watersports Centre in Nottingham. Many roles are available, and the opportunity to move across roles to learn all about the event delivery in line with your strengths and interests.

The Sprint Regatta dates are:
June 7th/8th/9th
July 6th/7th
September 7th/8th

We are particularly interested in attracting new volunteers to be a long term addition to the current great volunteer team and bring some more expertise in many areas of the event. Most roles don’t require any previous experience or knowledge and can be taught on the job by our experienced volunteers. There may also be the potential to receive some formal training dependent on the role and longer term commitment.

All roles are needed for the whole weekend, with flexibility on timings for some roles.

If you are interested in performing any of the roles outlined below, please contact us on: volunteers@paddleuk.org.uk to confirm your interest in any of the roles. If you wish to volunteer but aren't sure which role you’d be best suited for, please get in touch and we can identify suitable roles.
