ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Without retail store volunteers we could not have our shops!

Volunteers are hugely important to our work on the high street where we raise the profile of Rainbows, sell products and generate essential money to support the work of the hospice. As a shop volunteer you are part of a team who are the friendly voice and the welcoming face of Rainbows for shoppers and visitors to our shops.

Our retail shops are open 7 days a week (timings vary per shop) and we offer flexible volunteer shifts to all with options including: 1-hour shift, half a day and more.

Typical tasks the work could involve:
• Provide a warm and welcoming environment and the very best in customer service
• Serving customers at the till, wrapping goods, handling cash and credit card payments
• Ensure shelves, rails and the shop window are well displayed with stock and refreshed on a regular basis
• Assist with displays in all areas of the shop including the shop window
• Sort and arrange any donated items ready for sale (steaming, hanging, deciding on a price in accordance with the pricing guidelines, ticketing and displaying)
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
If you love speaking to a wide variety of people and would enjoy the variety of working in a shop, displaying and selling Rainbows own products and donated items, this volunteer role is perfect.
