Purpose of Role:
You will assist the Woodland Coordinator to help deliver nature-based wood land play. Volunteers will be supporting children and their parents aged between 0-4 to increase their knowledge, skills confidence, resilience to enjoy the natural world
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Volunteers’ role to include:
• Support the woodlands session lead to provide year-round play opportunities for children and their families aged 0- 4 years.
• Support opportunities for children and families to develop new interests and explore their creative and physical abilities.
• Foster diversity, equality and inclusion for all children and families attending.
• Support families who may need extra help to access our session.
• Support all aspects of health and safety on sessions
Volunteer Playworker will show a commitment to:
• Commitment to families play and enjoyment.
• Improving outcomes for children.
• Working in a non-judgmental and inclusive way with all families and members of the community.
• Be reliable.
• Confidentiality.
• Complete any training as required and make use of skills gained.
• Ensuring the safeguarding of children.
• Health and safety on sessions

Volunteer’s travel costs will be covered/reimbursed when traveling to and from sessions for the Toy Library.
Time Commitment:
Volunteers will be asked to complete a minimum of one 3-hour session a week volunteering. Sessions run on Saturdays from 12:30 to 3:30 throughout the year.
Training:
Volunteers will be required to attend induction training sessions.
- Induction Training includes Introductions to the Toy Library, Safeguarding, Health & Safety and completing expenses forms.
Training will be provided to volunteers as appropriate. This could include
– Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene, Risk assessment, Health and Safety., Equipped 2 Succeed, Trauma Informed Practice courses
