Purpose of Role:
Equation, an award-winning and innovative charity dedicated to preventing and responding to domestic and sexual abuse, are looking for Trustees to join our Management Committee and work with an existing team of 9 experienced Trustees. In particular, we’d welcome those with a finance or strategic background or knowledge and experience of Human Resources.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for Trustees to join our Management Committee and work with an existing team of 9 experienced Trustees. In particular, we’d welcome those with a finance or strategic background or knowledge and experience of Human Resources. We always want to ensure the management committee is representative of the communities we work with, particularly in terms of the protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010 or in terms of personal / professional experience of domestic abuse.

As part of the committee, you will have oversight of all aspects of Equation’s operations & governance with a shared responsibility to safeguard the organisation’s interests and further the charity’s objectives. What commitment do we expect from a Trustee?

If you have some spare time, are motivated, creative and like working positively to support others, this a great opportunity for you to make a positive and meaningful impact. Trustees are asked to attend Board meetings and join one sub-committee, meeting once a quarter for each. In addition to this, it is expected that a Trustee would engage in an area of the organization to add valuable oversight and engage with staff.

Time Commitment:

Quarterly full Management Committee Meetings (4 per year)

Quarterly subgroup meetings (4 per year)

Management Committee Strategy Away Day - one day per annum

Ad hoc work / communication

Term: one-three years (can be extended)
