Purpose of Role:
The Nottinghamshire Miners Welfare Trust Fund helps former coal miners and their families, by providing personal grants, help and advice.
The Board is now seeking applications from persons to join our existing Trustees, who through their experience and skills, will ensure the objects of the charity continue to be met.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:
The Nottinghamshire Miners Welfare Trust Fund, Registered Charity No. 1001272, was established in 1990 and helps former coal miners and their families, by providing personal grants, help and advice in times of hardship, with mobility issues and in accessing welfare benefits.
The Trust Fund also awards grants to organisations, clubs, and other charities, where the award of a grant would improve the quality of life of those living in former mining communities, across the county.
The Board is now seeking applications from persons to join our existing Trustees, who through their experience and skills, will ensure the objects of the charity continue to be met.

Trustees receive no remuneration or expenses.
Trustee meetings are normally held monthly, 9.30am to 12.30pm in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
You will have experience and knowledge of the coal mining industry and an understanding of the issues facing former coal industry employees, dependents, and those in former mining communities.
