Purpose of Role:
Our community cafe is open to a diverse community and we welcome everyone with a bright smile. We prepare regular hot drinks, cakes and simple snacks for the community. Other than hot breakfast, we offer occasional lunch and dinner.

The purpose of this role is to keep the community cafe ready for serving food and for maintaining a safe and hygienic environment.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
1. Preparing food and hot drinks for the community.
2. Following the hygiene protocols while working in the kitchen.
3. Setting up the café area and serving area beforehand.
4. Keeping the kitchen area clean and tidy.
5. Using the kitchen appliances with utmost care and
cautiousness.
6. While serving the food, make sure people pay and handle the money properly.
7. Serving the food to the community while maintaining good communication with the community.
8. Cleaning the tables, chairs, and the surrounding area is
clean in the foyer area.
9. Clean the kitchen floor; swipe and mop if required. 10.While closing the kitchen, make sure all the kitchen
appliances are turned off, and switch off the lights.
11. To undertake any other tasks as requested or appropriate
with the nature of the role.

Support Offered
■ Receive a full induction and training pack.
■ Be assigned a dedicated staff member as a direct contact
for any questions or queries.
■ Be valued and respected by everyone involved in
Diversify Education and Communities CIC and the Beechdale Community Centre and treated equally.
■ Travel expenses will be reimbursed.
■ All the tools and resources needed to carry out this role will
be provided.
