Purpose of Role:
Practical Barn Volunteers care for and feed our animals, collect eggs and get stuck in with mucking out.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
To improve animal environment and ensure that health and safety of the animals and visitors of the centre is maintained.
Help care for large and small animals including mucking out, grooming and health checks.
Help care for chickens and collect eggs laid on the farm for sale in the farm shop.
Care for and feed animals using waste food grown in the gardens and prepared in the café.
Ensure animal housing and paddocks are clean and maintained to an appropriate standard.
Carry out practical tasks including maintaining animal accommodation and helping with DIY jobs in the barn.
Undertake on-the-role training in areas associated with the role and to take part in supplementary courses when offered which will improve skill-set and training.
Voluntary roles within the barn are highly sought after, so commitment is needed.
This role may also be of interest to those wishing to work with individuals with additional needs.
This opportunity is available to people aged 14-plus.
You would be welcome to volunteer from 10:00 am to 3pm on Tuesday and/or Thursday
