Purpose of Role:
The Lenton Centre is offering an exciting opportunity for a Volunteer Lifeguard to ensure the safety of swimmers during various swimming sessions. The role involves monitoring individuals in and around the pool, enforcing safety rules, conducting risk assessments, and responding to emergencies by providing first aid and CPR. The volunteer will collaborate with lifeguards, staff, and emergency personnel, maintain incident reports, and address customer inquiries. This position provides comprehensive induction, training, and ongoing support, allowing volunteers to gain valuable lifeguarding experience, enhance skills, develop leadership and teamwork abilities, and be exposed to a diverse environment. The role is open to individuals aged 16 and above, with continuous support and training provided in areas such as lifeguarding, health and safety and safeguarding.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
VOLUNTEER LIFEGUARD
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This is an exciting opportunity to support The Lenton Centre by ensuring the safety of swimmers during public, swim school, and specialist swimming sessions.
As a volunteer lifeguard your duties will include:
Monitoring and ensuring the safety of individuals in and around the pool.
Enforcing rules and regulations to prevent accidents and promote a safe swimming environment.
Performing dynamic risk assessments, identifying hazards, and taking prompt action to address them.
Responding quickly and effectively to emergencies, providing first aid and CPR.
Communicating and collaborating with lifeguards, staff, and emergency personnel.
Maintain incident reports and complete required documentation.
Performing regular checks of the pool area to identify and address any hazards or safety concerns.
Assisting with the setup and takedown of pool equipment and supplies.
Providing excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and providing information to customers.
Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the pool area, including restrooms and surrounding areas.
Assisting in organising and conducting pool events or activities.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Valid NPLQ
Ability to remain calm and focused in emergencies.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical fitness, strong swimming ability and reliability.
