Purpose of Role:
SFiCE Foundation has a social cafe which provides free 3-course meals every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to a range of people in food poverty. You are invited to be part of the team between 1:30 and 4pm on one of the days, and help with the food preparation.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
TASKS INCLUDE:
Setting up the tables and equipment being used
Cleaning fruits and vegetables
Preparing Foodbank parcels
Wiping down tables and surfaces
Support the cook as required
This would suit you if you are looking to help the vulnerable and give back to society, gain experience to enable you to get a paid job, refresh your skills after being out of work for some time and including retired people who would like to contribute their skills and meet new people and make new friends.

Communication skills
Willingness to interact with customers
Basic awareness of food hygiene and health and safety would be beneficial
Ability to remain calm and organised under pressure during very busy times
Catering experience not essential.
