Purpose of Role:
To meet patients and visitors, be a friendly and welcoming point of initial contact, welcoming individuals into the hospital on a flexible basis within the designated areas.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
This role offers you the chance to meet a lot of people at the City Hospital.
Volunteers will display a helpful, friendly and courteous attitude towards patients, visitors, staff and colleagues promoting the Trust Values and behaviours standards.
Volunteers will act as a contact and information service, welcoming individuals into the hospital on a flexible basis within the designated volunteers rings and reception areas depending on times of day.
To provide clear and accurate point to point directional information using the Ring volunteer fixed points.
Duties include:
- Act as a contact point welcoming individual’s into the hospital
- Provide clear and accurate directions/wayfinding
- To escort individual’s either on foot or via wheelchair to their destination as appropriate
- Be flexible within their approach to duties and requests
We offer Meet and Greet placements on all our hospital campuses.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Volunteers will need to be physically mobile for up to 4 hours and be trained to push wheelchairs
