Purpose of Role:
Rainbow Play Mentors support a child or young person to engage in play according to their interest and ability. This could involve arts and crafts, table games, role play or outside activities within a team of experienced play supervisors.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Rainbow Play Mentors support a child or young person to engage in play according to their interest and ability. This could involve arts and crafts, table games, role play or outside activities within a team of experienced play workers. Setting up and packing away toys etc. will be required.

Some of our children & young people have social communication difficulties, behavioural difficulties or physical disabilities. You will be offered training.

When Required : Sat between 09:30 and 16:30
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential - ability to play and communicate at a child/young person's level, to have patience and understanding, be non-judgemental, ability to work within a team and be reliable. To have an understanding and experience of disability.

Desirable - to have had previous experience of working with children with disabilities on a one-to-one basis.

You will gain a rewarding experience and understanding of the challenges that some children face. Ideal experience for those wanting a career in medicine, psychology, education or care work.
