Purpose of Role:
Volunteers who are parents are needed to befriend other parents with children under five years and to visit families in their own homes, usually once a week for a couple of hours.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Home-Start supports parents to befriend other parents with children under five years of age who are experiencing difficulties. Volunteers are needed to visit families in their own homes, usually once a week for a couple of hours.
How you help is really down to the family itself. Some might need someone to talk to. Others may need more practical support with meal planning and cooking, reading to the children, going to the local park, or finding out about local services.
If you are interested, we have courses for volunteers running throughout the year.
This opportunity is available in Rushcliffe, Broxtowe, Gedling, Ashfield and Nottingham City.
