Purpose of Role:
Volunteers will assist Family Mentors to deliver the Cook & Play community groups in Bulwell and Aspley.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Volunteers will assist Family Mentors to deliver the Cook & Play community groups in Bulwell and Aspley.
Aspley Groups:
Monday 12:30-3pm - Aspley Childrens Centre, Minver Crescent, NG8 5PN
Thursday 9am-11:30am - Bells Lane Community Centre, 194 Amesbury Circus, Nottingham NG8 6DD
Bulwell Groups:
Monday 9:30am-12:30pm Ravensworth Road Church NG6 8FN.
Thursday 9am-12pm Bulwell Hall Healthy Living Centre, Lawton Drive, NG6 8BL.
Volunteers will be helping to prepare food, interact with the children and helping support families,parents and children ages 0-4 years increase confidence, communication and language, social and emotional development skills and support with nutritional development.
Volunteers role to include:
- Support with the smooth running of group sessions
- Welcoming families on arrival
- Helping parents complete consent forms
- Supporting children’s crèche activities
- Becoming a ‘Family Buddy’ - Supporting parents to attend sessions
- Telephone follow up contact with families.
- Attending community events to showcase SSBC
- Additional activities as role develops
