Purpose of Role:
Provide guided tours of Green's Windmill at selected times of the day
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Main duties will include:

* Lead guided tours of Green’s Windmill at selected times of the day.
* Provide a friendly face and welcome visitors to the site.
* Describe tour points of interest to group members.
* Have a basic knowledge of mill machinery and respond to questions.
* Provide excellent customer service to visitors so they have a great experience.
* Direct people to special events and temporary exhibitions.
* Help Green’s Windmill to ensure good health and safety for visitors, volunteers and staff.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
We are looking for people with a love of local history, attention to detail, great communication skills (for speaking in public) and an outgoing manner with high standards for customer care. Volunteers will be given a full induction to Green’s Windmill, no previous experience is needed for this role and training and support will be provided.

We're looking for volunteers to provide excellent customer service to our visitors so that they have a great experience and want to return.

This is a fantastic personal and professional development opportunity which will make you feel valued in a friendly community setting and give you a purpose. Green's Mill is situated on a hilltop 30 metres from the main car park off Windmill Lane. There are several flights of steps between the car park and windmill.

However, car and minibus parking is available for wheelchair users and visitors with mobility.

With the exception of the upper floors of the windmill, everything is at ground level. This role requires that you are able to access the upper floors, require access to the upper floors of the mill, so accessibility will be person-specific based on how they manage with steep steps.
