Purpose of Role:
Contribute your ideas to the planning of, and planting produce.
Help with activities and learning, as part of the gardening team.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
We provide a wide range of gardening activities, centred around communal food growing and the creation of habitats for wildlife and environmental crafts. We host regular family activity days, short courses on growing your own produce, in addition to offering opportunities for volunteering.
We are open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 10am-4pm and Saturdays, 1pm-4pm for volunteering opportunities or to just enjoy the space. In addition to our opening times, we offer exclusive use of the Garden to Cantrell Primary School as an outdoor classroom space two and a half days a week.

Spanning diverse areas of woodland, raised beds, sensory gardens, community orchard and wildflower meadows, Bulwell Forest Garden offers a stunning, beautiful and supportive environment all the year round.

Everything we have achieved has happened due to the passion, dedication and hard work of local people. From growing produce and supporting wildlife, making jam, holding activity days, fundraising, publicity and planning, volunteering is at the heart of everything we do.

Whether you have a spare hour once-in-a-while, or would like to commit to regular sessions, you will be welcomed with a smile and the kettle is always on!

Tend to the fresh produce and flowers growing in the raised beds, community orchard and sensory garden, with guidance from our Lead Volunteers and Workers where necessary.
Assist with children's gardening crafts and creative projects, community events and fundraising activities, depending on your interest and experience
Ensure health & safety standards are maintained
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
If you are already a keen gardener this role would be a fantastic way to share your skills and knowledge with others.
If you are not an experienced gardener, but would like to learn about growing fruit and vegetables, this is a great way of doing so.


Reliability and good manners are essential.
Previous gardening skills are desirable but not essential.
Gardening skills can be learned on site, and training opportunities are available if desired.
