Purpose of Role:
The Toy Library is offering opportunities for you to volunteer to assist Playworkers to deliver the play session for young people in Bulwell and across our ABG areas. Volunteers will be supporting young people aged between 4 and 13 years old to increase their confidence, resilience and enjoyment in group activities such as arts, craft, outdoor, active and adventurous play.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
• Support the Lead Playworker and other play staff to provide year-round play opportunities for young people aged 4 -13 years.
• Supporting young people’s play opportunities both indoors and out.
• Support opportunities for young people to develop new interests and explore their creative and physical abilities.
• Foster diversity, equality and inclusion for all young people attending.
• Support young people who may need extra help to access our play session.
• Support all aspects of health and safety on sessions
Volunteer Playworker will show a commitment to:
• Commitment to young people’s play and enjoyment.
• Respecting young people voices and opinions.
• Improving outcomes for children.
• Working in a non-judgmental and inclusive way with all young people and members of the community.
• Be reliable.

• Complete training as required and make use of skills gained.

Volunteer’s travel costs will be covered/reimbursed when traveling to and from sessions for the Toy Library.
Volunteers will be asked to complete a minimum of one 3 hours session a week volunteering. Sessions run Monday-Saturday sessions and are usually in the evenings during term time and in the day during school holidays.
Training:
Volunteers will be required to attend induction training sessions.
- Induction Training includes Introductions to the Toy Library Safeguarding, Health & Safety and completing expenses forms.
Training will be provided to volunteers as appropriate. This could include
– Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene, Risk assessment, Health and Safety.
