Purpose of Role:
Let's Shine and Give A Smile has big plans for Christmas 2024 and they'd like you to be part of them by giving some of your time. You'll be part of a great team of people who will prepare and serve a Christmas Dinner on Saturday 21 December for a LOT of people.
There is also an opportunity to wrap Christmas presents on 15, 16 or 17 December.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:
There are a variety of roles on offer:
Cooking in the kitchen from 11am to 6pm. This will be about preparing the food, then cleaning up afterwards
Welcome volunteers to guide visitors to their tables and to check in throughout the event.
Also, if you are available on 15, 16 or 17 December for wrapping Christmas Presents. This will take place at a location in Beechdale.
Of course, there's far more than just food needed to make a magical Christmas. So you could be involved in decorating the place in addition to all the food preparation.
It's all about making Christmas a special time, not just for children, but for people from across the communities that the organisation supports.
You can put in as much - or as little - time as you have available during the preparation and serving of the Christmas Meal
As well as your travel expenses, you'll be provided with refreshments during your volunteering.
Planning decorations and other aspects of the event are underway early this year, so now is the time to join in.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
You don't need any special skill to be involved with the event preparation, just need to be friendly, able deal with pressure and a have good sense of humour.
If you'd like to be involved in the food preparation, it would be good if you have food hygeine certification.
Some activities may require a DBS Check, but not all of them will.
