Purpose of Role:
Are you IT literate? Familiar with Access databases? Can use Excel to an advanced level? Do you have a good eye for detail? Can you work in a confidential manner? We are looking for someone for 2 hours per week every Thursday to check our database, download and upload data to our system, run regular reports and follow up on report actions.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
We need a Database Support Volunteer to be a part of the Insight Team that includes the Insight and Programmes Manager, the Projects and Insights Officer and the Projects and Research Assistant, to check and maintain the quality of issues and intelligence records in our database, upload data and run activity reports.
Through this we fulfil one of our key roles:
• Make a difference: To collect & provide insight into patients & communities, making recommendations to improve services for the public, patients and service users. Holding commissioners and providers to account for delivering these recommendations
What HWNN Database Support Volunteers will do
This role can involve any of the following:
• Checking the HWNN Database for data integrity
• Downloading the volunteer activity hours from the SNAP survey system, sending them to the Volunteer Manager for checking
• Uploading the above hours into our database when approved
• Closing specific records in DAISI, our database
• Attending the fortnightly issues meeting and follow up on actions that arise.
• Running and distributing the monthly Activity Intelligence report
Accountability for this role will be with the Projects and Insights Officer
When they will do it:
We expect that this role will take approximately 2 hours per week, every Thursday, during office hours. Exact times to be arranged
Where they will do it:
The majority of this role will take place at the HWNN’s offices in Hucknall, in line with current HWNN COVID-19 guidelines.

The role is open to anyone who is either a resident of Nottingham or Nottinghamshire and has an interest or experience in some or all of the tasks listed.

• IT literate
• Ability to use excel to an advanced level
• Good communication and listening skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Be responsible for the delivery of their own tasks
• Experience of working in a confidential manner
• Commitment and reliability.
• Friendly and approachable
• Work well as part of a team
• Represent HWNN in a professional manner, and be identifiable by wearing the lanyard and identity badge provided
What HWNN will provide:
• Induction to Healthwatch Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, including our remit and function, organisational systems and procedures.
• Access to materials and sources of information as appropriate
• Support to carry out the role from the Projects and Insights Officer and the Volunteer Manager
• Respect and recognition for your contribution as a volunteer.
• Opportunities to access further training as appropriate to the role
• Opportunities to be involved in other HWNN activities
• Regular volunteer meetings
