Purpose of Role:
As a Photography Volunteer for Nottingham Green Guardians you will work closely with Nottingham City Council and the volunteer teams to help us promote our Parks through the buildings, people and wildlife that make them so important.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
As a Photography Volunteer for Nottingham Green Guardians you will work closely with Nottingham City Council and the volunteer teams to help us promote our Parks through the buildings, people and wildlife that make them so important.

We are wanting to create albums of beautiful, up to date and good quality images of our Parks and Open spaces which will be used towards celebrating Nottingham’s green areas in different advertising and marketing campaigns, as well as helping us capture the valuable work our volunteers carry out across the city.

We are looking for photographs to capture;

Volunteers at work (with permission granted by individuals in the photos)
Different elements of biodiversity, greenery and wildlife
Historical features of parks eg monuments, bandstands
What different locations offer, from the larger destination parks to the local neighbourhood park
Key events
Nottingham has numerous Green Flag award-winning parks as well as beautiful and diverse local nature reserves, we want you to help us to celebrate and promote these by sharing your beautiful photos of these open spaces.

This role can be undertaken at a time to suit you, although there will be opportunities to cover specific events and projects.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
You will need to have access to your own photography equipment which is capable of taking and editing high quality images. Images will need to be uploaded via our digital asset management system (Canto). Relevant photo credit will be given.

The skills you need:
Motivation and enthusiasm
Good attention to detail
Landscape and nature photography experience is preferred but not essential
Communication skills, to be able to liaise with staff and volunteers to ensure that participants are happy for their photographs to be taken
Enjoy working with people of all backgrounds and can make people feel at ease
Enjoy creating and taking good quality photographic images
Some IT skills are necessary for editing photos and uploading images onto a website/emailing them to the staff team
Self-sufficient and can work independently
