This session takes place on Thursday 14 November 2024, from 1pm to 2.30pm
Delivered as a webinar via Teams

Neurodivergence is a form of multiple disadvantage, and the intersection of the two is complex.

We begin our Understanding Neurodivergence and Multiple Disadvantage learning series with an introductory talk designed to raise awareness of this topic and provide a baseline understanding needed to engage in future sessions.

Delivered by Caitlin Brooks, Senior Social Worker within Framework’s Street Outreach Service, this session will seek to provide clarity on the term neurodivergence and share insights into why neurodivergence is increasingly considered a form of multiple disadvantage.

She will explain why neurodivergent affirmative approaches are crucial for effective support and intervention when working with people who experience severe and multiple disadvantage (SMD). There will be opportunities in this session for attendees to ask questions and share reflections on this topic.
