This session takes place on Thursday 27 February 2025, from 3pm to 4pm
Delivered as a webinar via Teams

This session is part of our SMD Learning Series. It will be led by Twinkle Choksi, Trainee Clinical Psychologist, looking at the findings from the report of the same name.

It is recognised that people experiencing homelessness often use substances and may face additional barriers to reducing substance use while living in hostels. This session will discuss existing research to address: How do people who use substances experience accessing and living in homeless hostels?

We will discuss themes such as living in fear, the power of human connection, the need for emotional safety, and the use of restrictive practices.

The webinar will enable you to hear from one of the authors of the report to learn more about the existing research on this topic. There will also be opportunities to ask questions at the end via an interactive Q&A with the author/presenter, Twinkle Choksi.

You can read a summary of the Choksi and Tickle report (2024).

Presenters:

  • Twinkle Choksi is a Trainee Clinical Psychologist currently working with Nottingham Recovery Network. She has contributed to the field with the article above.
