Support for Gedling's Voluntary and Community Sector

 

A series of events to support your work

Gedling Voluntary Action Collaborative (VAC) invites you to a series of events taking place across the borough throughout March 2025, each focused on a different area of support.

The events are free to attend and offer the chance to meet with others and share expertise. You are welcome to attend as many of the events as you wish! There is a separate registration form for each event. Light refreshments will be provided.

Partnerships and Collaborations: working together

Wednesday 5 March 2025, from 1pm to 3pm
at St George's Centre, Netherfield NG4 2NN

Local experts will be sharing practical partnership skills, relationship building advice and speaking about how they work collaboratively. If you have any questions on this topic, it will also be a chance to seek advice from the group.

Capacity Building: skills, resources and advice

Thursday 13 March 2025, from 10am to 1pm
at The CORE Centre, Calverton NG14 6JX

Local experts will be sharing skills, resources and advice, on topics such as social media and fundraising, to support your group to thrive. If you have any questions on this topic, it will also be a chance to seek advice from the group.

Volunteering: recruiting, supporting and retaining

Thursday 20 March 2025, from 2.30pm to 5pm
at Hope Nottingham, Carlton Community Hub NG4 1EE

Local experts will be talking about good practice around volunteering, promoting volunteering opportunities and sharing their experiences of volunteering and leading volunteers. If you have any questions on this topic, it will also be a chance to seek advice from the group.

Leadership and Advocacy: strengthening our voice and influence

Tuesday 25 March 2025, from 1pm to 4pm
at Daybrook Baptist Church, 16 Mansfield Road NG5 6AA

Local leaders will be talking about how we can strengthen the sector and make impactful change. We will also be looking at how we can gather our collective expertise on our new website, to empower groups across Gedling.

Online registration will be available up to 24 hours before each event until we reach venue capacity. We will attempt to support dietary requirements submitted in our planning for light refreshments, but we encourage you to book early for specific allergy requests.
