What is a Community of Practice?

A Community of Practice (CoP) is a group of people who share a concern or a passion for something they do and learn how to do it better together by sharing learning and good practice.

The Practice Development Unit (PDU) currently facilitates two Communities of Practice:

  • Co-Production
This CoP provides a forum for professionals and volunteers with a passion for, and commitment to, collaborating effectively with the people they support and empowering them to get the most out of their involvement.

  • Employability and Skills
This CoP provides a forum for professionals and volunteers with a passion for, and commitment to, empowering people who experience multiple disadvantage through employment and skills led recovery and resettlement.

Other networks supported by the PDU

  • Nottingham City Homeless Health Network
This is a collaborative cross sector forum that meets every two months to ensure systems across the city are responsive to the support needs of those suffering health inequalities, with a focus on people experiencing homelessness and/or Severe Multiple Disadvantage (SMD).
