Community projects, across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, have received vital funding to assist the Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), Paddy Tipping, with reducing crime and protecting victims, witnesses, and vulnerable people.
A total of 23 charities and not-for-profit groups have successfully applied for grants under the PCC's Community Safety and Violence Reduction Fund 2021-22.
These projects will help Paddy Tipping to tackle the driving forces behind crime and provide people of all ages with the support and opportunities they need to live a life free from crime and harm.
Among those to have received awards in the latest round are Nottingham charity Al-Hurraya, which has received £25,000 to provide ongoing crime prevention support to Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic and Refugee (BAMER) communities through its Growth+ initiative, with a specific focus on tackling serious violence and organised crime. While Evolve Nottingham CIC has received £15,000 to fund phase two of The R Programme, which helps young people build resilience and develop life skills to make safer choices.
