Grants of up to £10,000 (the average amount is £4,000) are available for registered charities only that support children and young people facing disadvantage in reaching their potential.
Successful projects will meet the following criteria:
- Support disadvantaged children and young people under the age of 25 years.
- Provide educational activities that develop learning, motivation and skills.
- Have clear aims and objectives within a planned timescale.
- Work within the UK.
Preference will be given to projects piloting new approaches where the outcomes will be disseminated to a wider audience, particularly where the grant would cover a significant element of the cost, and to those from smaller charities.
Example projects include those that support special educational needs or foster social, emotional, or life skills. Funding for equipment will only be considered where a full explanation is given, including details on how the equipment is vital to supporting the activities. Grants must be spent within twelve months from the date of the award, and recipients are expected to submit a written evaluation report within three months from the completion of the project.
