The Movement Fund provides crowdfunding pledges, grants, and resources to enhance physical activity opportunities for underserved individuals and communities. They offer investments of up to £15,000, which can be awarded either as a contribution to a crowdfunding campaign or as a direct grant.
The Movement Fund supports a variety of formally constituted not-for-profit organizations, including sports clubs, charities, local authorities, schools, Community Benefit Societies, and not-for-profit companies. Their main focus is to support projects that match their goal of getting more people active, reducing the number of inactive people and tackling long-standing inequalities.
They will prioritise projects who support:
- People living on low incomes.
- Disabled people or those with long-term health conditions.
- Older people.
- People from culturally diverse communities.
- Pregnant women and parents with very young children.
- Girls aged five to sixteen.
- LGBTQ+ people.
- People who are in foster care.
- People who provide care without pay.
The funding could cover various needs such as equipment, refurbishing or upgrading facilities, developing new capabilities and leadership skills, delivery costs, and emergency relief.
For funding enquiries, the team can be contacted by phone on 0345 8508 508 or by email at funding@sportengland.org, Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm.
