Impetus: Youth Employment fund

The Impetus Youth Employment fund has unrestricted grants of up to £100,000 available for organisations that support young people, particularly those from ethnic minority or socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds, to find work or develop work-related skills. 

To receive funding, organisations must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be a UK-registered charity or social enterprise.
  • Deliver all or most of its work within England and Wales.
  • Have young people (aged fourteen to twenty-five) from socio-economically disadvantaged or ethnic minority backgrounds make up at least 50% of its service users. 
  • Have at least five members of staff.
  • Have work that targets employment or employment-related outcomes for young people.
  • Have at least broke-even in two of the past three years, or must hold at least two months of operating costs in reserves.

Successful organisations will receive:

  • £100k in unrestricted grant funding per year for two years (with potential to continue thereafter).
  • Expertise, coaching, and capacity-building support from the Impetus Investment team.
  • Access to the Impetus peer learning forums, a chance to network with and learn from other portfolio charities and their senior teams.
  • Access to sector-based coalitions to influence policy and the national conversation on the issues faced by the young people you serve.
  • Access to Impetus's world-class pro-bono network of specialist advisers, including PwC and Bain.
  • Access to further grants through co-investment with Impetus's network of donors.
