Harvest Appeal will provide meals for Nottingham's homeless

Emmanuel House Support Centre has launched a Harvest Appeal 2020 to help provide, healthy nutritious food for its night-shelter service users.

Since lockdown, the Nottingham-based charity has been running its night shelter service from a local hotel which has enabled rough sleepers to self-isolate in individual rooms throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. As well as providing private rooms with en-suite facilities and offering housing advice and health support, Emmanuel House has also been providing its guests with food and drink with the help of other voluntary sector organisations. They are currently serving 72 meals a day to service-users, that’s over 500 meals every week and over 2,000 every month.

In order to continue providing this important service, the charity is asking for donations of food. A full list of the items needed is available on their website. You can also view the charity's Amazon Wishlist here.

People are also being invited to make a one-off financial donation to the charity to contribute to the cost of meal ingredients or they can sponsor a meal.

Full details of how you can help the charity, including instructions on how to drop off donations or make financial contributions, are available here.
