The East Midlands Airport (EMA) Community Fund

This fund closed for applications on Sunday 31 March 2024, 5pm.

The EMA Community Fund has ring-fenced funding for an ‘Eco-Garden Fund’. Grants of up to £10,000 are available for schools, charities, and other not-for-profit organisations within the EMA area of benefit looking to turn their Eco-Garden dream into a reality.

Successful applications will incorporate clever and innovative ways to make a space more environmentally friendly and provide lasting benefits to communities.

Proposed gardens must:

  • Enrich the environment, improve biodiversity, and encourage wildlife. The funder asks that you provide a ‘baseline audit’ and a summary of how their garden will improve this.
  • Considers climate change and carbon footprint.
  • Teach, engage, and inspire the wider community to think about the natural world, climate change, sustainability, and the importance of biodiversity.

It is advised to demonstrate:

  • How the garden will be used on a day-to-day basis.
  • How the garden will have a positive impact on the wellbeing of those using the space.
  • How the garden will leave a lasting legacy for future generations and the wider community to enjoy.
