Congratulations to Base 51 on being presented with a prestigious High Sheriff's Award in recognition of their valuable services to the community!
The young people's charity, which supports anyone aged 11-25 in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, was recently visited by Professor Dame Elizabeth Fradd, the High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire, who presented them with the award at a socially distanced ceremony.
Professor Dame Elizabeth Fradd, said, "I have known Base 51 since its early days when the focus was predominately on sexual health provision. The emphasis may have changed but the passion to support young people certainly hasn’t. When I met some young people a few months ago, the benefits of their time in the club was evident, they were able to talk about the programmes they had accessed which have helped them develop better ways of living. I am proud to have presented them with a High Sheriff's Award."
The award was presented to CEO Jo Jepson and Chair of Board of Trustees Peter Morley.
Jo said, “I’m very proud that Base 51 has been selected to receive the award. Our dedicated staff, both past and present have received well-deserved recognition for their efforts both during the pandemic and before it. I hope that we can use this as a springboard to elevate awareness of our work, it’s never been more important for young people to know we are still here to support them.”
