Join us for this free, in-person event in partnership with Al-Hurraya, where you’ll learn about the mental health services currently available for ethnically diverse communities and gain practical tools to nurture your own mental wellbeing.
We recently partnered with Al-Hurraya to deliver three training sessions for community leaders and organisations supporting ethnically diverse communities, to enhance their skills and provide tools for culturally appropriate mental health and wellbeing support that celebrates diversity and fosters empowerment.
This training was the product of our community engagement project in 2023, to understand why some communities (particularly people from South Asian backgrounds) weren’t accessing NHS Talking Therapies.
Building on this previous work and training, we’re now hosting a community event in partnership with Al-Hurraya, to equip you with a basic understanding of mental health, support services available, and practical self-help tools.
The event will be held on Thursday 6 June 2024 at The Indian Community Centre, 99 Hucknall Road, NG5 1QZ. Registration is from 9:30am for a 10am start, finishing at 3pm.
