This Community of Practice meets every few months on Thursday mornings from 10am to 12 noon. All our sessions are online and are facilitated via Zoom.
This session takes place on Thursday 13 June 2024.
Our theme this time is: What can I do to better support my clients whilst they are awaiting diagnosis? Reasonable adjustments and good practice.
With long waits for formal diagnoses, and many adults unaware that they may be neurodivergent, what can we offer by way of better support to people who remain currently undiagnosed? Join this session to learn about recommended reasonable adjustments that can help your organisation/service to be more inclusive and responsive to the support needs of neurodivergent individuals.
Our meetings involve group discussions and presentations from colleagues at Autistic Nottingham. The session offers our members a chance to learn about neurodiversity and SMD in a supportive, peer led environment, with the opportunity to share lived and learned experience, network, discuss challenges and ask questions.
Intended audience:
This CoP is open to anyone with an interest in, or passion for, understanding neurodiversity, and who has a commitment to improving the way that services are designed and delivered so they are more inclusive of individuals who are neurodivergent.
We welcome people with lived experience of SMD and/or neurological differences to join this CoP, as well as professionals and volunteers across sectors.
Ongoing attendance:
To promote continuity and to gain maximum learning we encourage participants to attend all sessions of this CoP, or to nominate a colleague to attend on your behalf.
