PDU Co-Production Community of Practice

An online forum for professionals, volunteers and people with lived experience who are passionate or curious about co-production, to come together to learn and share expertise.

This Community of Practice (CoP) meets quarterly, usually on Wednesday mornings from 10am to 12 noon. All our sessions are online and are facilitated via Zoom.

This session takes place on Wednesday 23 October 2024.

Our theme this time is How to Support People to Get Involved:

Having looked at recruitment and retention of new experts in an earlier CoP this year, this session will address issues around supporting our experts to be involved and to be able to make meaningful contributions in what can be a challenging process that often takes people out of their comfort zone.

Our meetings involve group discussions and presentations from both facilitators and group members who want to share updates and learning about their own co-production journeys. The session offers our members a chance to learn about co-production in a supportive, peer led environment, with the opportunity to share lived and learned experience, network, discuss challenges and ask questions.

Who can attend?
This CoP is open to anyone with an interest in, or passion for, meaningful service user involvement and ensuring that the voice of lived experience has an influence on the way that services are designed and delivered.

Our group is for people who have a baseline understanding of co-production and want to learn more. It would be of most interest to people who wish to better understand and develop co-production approaches involving people who experience severe and multiple disadvantage (SMD).

We welcome people with lived experience of SMD to be involved in our group, as well as professionals and volunteers from across sectors.

Ongoing attendance:
To promote continuity and to gain maximum learning we encourage participants to attend all sessions of this CoP, or to nominate a colleague to attend on your behalf.
