Gambling and Cultural Responsivity

Registration is closed for this event
Part of a series of interactive webinars to develop understanding and best practice around gambling related harms.

Following our “Introduction to Gambling Related Harm, Credit and Illegal Money Lending” workshop in June, we have launched a monthly Gambling Related Harm Learning Series to deep dive on important topics in more depth. These will take the form of free 1 hour live webinars on Wednesday mornings 10-11am (usually the first Wednesday of the month).

What? In this session we will explore the topic of gambling related harm in relation to it’s impact on Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic and Refugee/Asylum Seeker (BAMER) communities. We will discuss why a culturally responsive approach is needed to tackling problem gambling and addiction, what support is available and how to develop cultural responsiveness within your practice.

When? Wednesday 4 October 2023, 10am-11am

Where? Online

Who? We welcome individuals with lived experience of SMD to attend, as well as professionals and volunteers from all sectors.

This is part of a series of interactive webinars to develop understanding and best practice around gambling related harms. Though you do not have to attend all the webinar sessions, it is recommended you do to get the most out of the series.
