This online training will give you a basic understanding of the role and responsibilities of a Designated Safeguarding Lead Person for an organisation working with vulnerable children and young people. Cost: £25 per participant

Who is this training for?

If you’re new to the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead Person for an organisation that works with children and young people, this training you.

Before registering for this training, please ensure that you’ve attended our Introduction to Safeguarding Children and Young People training (or equivalent introductory/refresher training) within the last three years.

The role of Designated Safeguarding Lead is particularly relevant when working with children and young people, given that the safeguarding children referral process is a multi-agency approach. Therefore, this session focuses on working with children and young people.

If your organisation works with adults only, this training may still be relevant to you, as working with adults involves the consideration of children who may be at risk. However, the referral processes are led by the Adult Safeguarding Team.
