Purpose of Role:
This flexible role is to join a passionate team of volunteers to run the Sherwood Exchange. We are setting up a food and household goods exchange in Sherwood.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Sherwood Exchange is an Unincorporated group of volunteers who wish to set up and run a accessible food and household good exchange service within Sherwood. The exchange will encourage the donation by individuals and organisations of surplus items for the benefit of all, particularly people facing or at risk of experiencing financial hardship.

We are looking for new members for our committee to ensure the resources of Sherwood Exchange are managed well and applied in the best way possible to help achieve the organisation’s aims and run in a way that it will continue to satisfy the ‘community interest test’. This means any decision, support or advice should always consider the interests of the community Sherwood Exchange is intended to serve.

Applicants over 18 may also be ‘paid back’ in time, which other people volunteer into the time bank if you choose to do so. ‘Time’ volunteered into the time bank can be anything from time from another person who volunteers to undertake tasks such as gardening or domestic cleaning. Or time to bake a cake or undertake minor repairs on items you might require fixing.

If you’re interested in helping others and the environment and you fulfil the following requirements, please get in touch.

Two recent references are required for this post. Availability is also required to attend an informal interview meeting either in person, over the phone or via Microsoft Teams, Skype or Zoom.
