The Tomorrow Project, part of self-harm and suicide prevention charity Harmless, has launched a new suicide crisis text messaging service for people in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

The text service is open at the following times:

A new mental health helpline for adults and young people has been launched in Nottinghamshire.

The Nottinghamshire Mental Health Helpline is being delivered by social enterprise Turning Point, which has been providing specialist mental health support services, on behalf of the NHS, in Nottingham for over 30 years.

The service works alongside the Nottinghamshire Crisis Line, providing personalised advice, emotional support and information on coping mechanisms.

The helpline number is 0300 555 0730 and is open from 9am-11pm, seven days a week.

Up to £25,000 in grant funding support is available for Black-led social enterprises in the UK. 

As part of PWC's commitment to continue to build an inclusive culture and tackle racial inequality, the organisation has recently appointed a committee, called the ColourBrave Charity Committee, which will be allocating grants, in the range of £2,000 up to £25,000, to increase support for Black-led social enterprises as well as charities with ethnic minority beneficiaries.

The Women’s Sector Resilience Fund has been created with the support of the Department of Culture, Media and Sport to safeguard the vital frontline jobs and support services of women’s organisations that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in England.

Funds are for women’s organisations and services that are supporting women aged 18 and over whose poverty has been exacerbated by the pandemic or those that have been pushed into new poverty and financial hardship.

COVID Cash Course is a pioneering two-hour course, from Just Finance in partnership with Transforming Notts Together, which is available for free to individuals and community organisations to help them provide vital information on Universal Credit, mortgage and credit changes to individuals in their community.

The course is designed as an information and signposting resource, presenting complex information in a straight forward way aiming to prevent the financial challenges posed by the Coronavirus, from causing crisis in local communities.

Community Accounting Plus (CA Plus) is running a series of interactive online seminars to support anyone who holds responsibility for finances in their organisation, such as senior staff or trustees.

Sessions are open to any charity or Community Interest Company (CIC) in Nottingham or Nottinghamshire.

The sessions will be delivered by CA Plus CEO John O'Brien and are limited to 10 places per seminar.

Areas to focus on will include, planning and budgeting, managing your cash flow, your accounting system and reporting to the board.

Beyond, a newly launched digital platform, is currently offering six months of free design and digital training to help non-profits adapt and respond in times of crisis.

Beyond focusses on providing support to non-profits in the following two main areas:

• Financial Wellbeing - non-profits supporting people in England experiencing or at risk of financial insecurity
  
  
• Early Years - non-profits supporting parents and children in England from pregnancy up to age five.

Infused Learning has secured funding to deliver a ‘Personal Potential Course’.

Do any of your service users want to build their skills and CV whilst learning about themselves and learning to recognise their unique personal potential?

They will need to be committed to study four hours per week over eight weeks and attend all online sessions, as well as work towards an accredited Level 1 Award in Personal Potential.

They will learn techniques to develop and grow their self-worth and the ability to identify and remove barriers to their future success. They will receive one-to-one life coaching to help build their plan and next steps into education or employment with a £50 voucher to help them along the way on full completion of all sessions.

To be eligible for a funded place, participants should be over 16, live in Nottinghamshire, be unemployed and not in education or training.
